Who is Duarte WV?
Duarte WV is Duarte, a destination wedding videographer in Portugal filming weddings since 2014. He makes exquisite, romantic wedding films with a classic touch and an experimental edge, mostly for couples from abroad who choose Portugal for their wedding.
Where are you based and where do you film?
I'm based in Portugal and film weddings all over the country: Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Comporta, Alentejo, Porto and the Algarve. Most of my weddings are in Portugal, and I'm happy to travel abroad if you're getting married somewhere else.
Do you work with couples from the US?
Yes. Most of my couples are American, many of them from New York. Everything happens in English, and we plan it all over video calls before you land in Portugal.
How much does a wedding videographer cost in Portugal?
My weddings start at €4,000. You receive a feature film and a short film, shot in 4K with analog VHS footage.
What's your style?
Relaxed, romantic and exquisite, with a classic touch and an experimental edge. I mostly film quietly and close and let the day happen. For a few short moments I step in and guide you, just enough to make you look effortlessly cool. I also like to play with how some moments are captured, including vintage VHS.
Do you work alone?
Yes, always. It's just me and my camera, so I stay focused on the moments and almost invisible.
Can we choose the music?
Yes. You can suggest songs for the feature film and I mix them with my own choices. For the short film I pick the song that best fits your day.
When and how do we receive our films?
Your films are delivered digitally 4 to 6 months after the wedding. You get private 4K links to watch online and full-resolution files to download.
What language do you speak?
I speak English and Portuguese.
How many weddings do you film per year?
Around 12, so every couple gets my full attention.
